In January of 1915 we first see a listing in the Radio Service Bulletin , Bureau of Navigation, Department of Commerceof a station WCI in Newport, Rhode Island. It is listed as a Fessenden transmitter, 260 watts.

Also in the same publication we see that the station charges for Radiograms which points to it being a commercial station and not a Navy installation.

In 1916 we see a listing for WCI in the another issue from the Depstrment of Commerce that ties the station to the Nation Electric Signaling Company, which was a Fessenden company at the time.

In the October 1, 1916 publication from the Department of Commerce has a listing for the station again

In 1919 the station is still there judging by a advertisment for the International Radio Telegraph Company, which was the company that emerged from the National Electric Signaling Company after it went into receivership. 1

Also in 1919 there is a mention of the station in a account of the routine experience of a radio telegrapher on shipboard in the year 1919 on a trip from New York to Denmark and return. The article was written by Donald McNocol.

Commercial Radio November 12, 1932 (1919)

In 1922 we see that the station is still there, this time controlled by the Radio Corporation which I believe is RCA.
