1961 National Automobile Show
Here is some memorabilia I own from the 1961 National Automobile Show in New York, NY at the New York Coliseum on April 1st to the 9th. This show set a record for the first 5 years of its existence with a total of 335,000 attendees and sales of over $90,000,000. It is where the 1961 Comet was introduced to the world. Above is a picture of the New York Coliseum. Below that are the cover and 5 pages from the program where the Comet is mentioned. One is a small article and picture on the Comet. Another page has three nice pictures and some specs on the 2 door Comet sedan and the 2 and 4 door Comet wagons!. The last two pages are the floor setup where the Comet was shown and the booth listing. Next is a exhibitor pin that identified people working an exhibit in the show. I got this pin from someone that worked for Pirelli Tires. I then have a bunch of articles from the New York Times on the show. |
